But with a few simple tips, we will teach you the best practices
for sharing...and, how to get shared!!
Once you have shared your images via social media platforms, you will see the vendors start to re-share them too. This is the goal friends!
With each list of vendors in a shoot, we also have a list of advertisers! For each vendor who re-shares, we are being seen by their audience too. Besides a few minutes of time, it costs us nothing! Essentially free advertising.
HOT TIP: create a dm pod for your vendors on instagram to share a copy + paste credit list to make it easy to share posts with your styled shoot team |
Using hashtags in your captions will add your images to the queue of each hashtag used. As we mentioned in Part 1 of our blog post, each major wedding blog has its own # they encourage wedding industry accounts to use to be featured. Check the account profile of your fav blog to see what their preferred hashtag is. They make it as easy as possible to get seen.
HOT TP: save your hashtag lists in a note on your phone so its easy copy + paste when posting. |
Sharing in stories is so easy to do! When you are tagged, you will get a notification of the story share, and you can share that in your story as well. In your notifications, you can click on add to story and BAM...story re-shared yet again!
ONE LAST HOT TIP: with each tag in a photo, engage in the post. Liking the post is great. Even better to engage with the post by commenting. (and as cute as emojis are...use your words first!) |

But with a few simple tips, we will teach you the best practices
for sharing...and, how to get shared!!
When sharing your images via instagram, there is one easy rule you can use to make tags work for you!
If someone had a hand in the image...you tag them. Everyone of those vendors will then get notified of your post!
It couldn't be simpler to get your images seen.
HOT TIP: if you don't have a full vendor credit list, ask the creative director/planner for one. |
In the image below, we have a photographer, the venue, the jacket, the calligraphy.
But what you don't see is: the stylist, the planner + the 2nd shooter, and the entire team that put this design together.
Something else you don't see...this image was captured by the 2nd shooter.
If you are curious, you can see this image posted in our Instagram today...have a peek at how we tagged it!
There are two spots to tag in instagram images. In your caption + in your photo. It is most beneficial to use both to get your image seen more. Just think of all those people being able to quickly share your post in their stories...now that's some easy sharing!
HOT TIP: tag the full vendor team in your caption, and tag the vendors who had a hand in the actual image in your photo tag |
Using hashtags in your captions when shared in Instagram is the easiest way to get seen! Be diligent with your hashtag use. Change them up as per your post needs.
HOT TIP: did you know that most wedding blogs have their own hashtag they ask you to use to get featured....how simple is that to do!!! |

Pinterest for Business is a game changer. I'll walk you through the steps of getting a business account, editing your account, navigating your business hub + pinning in your boards...and that's just the first class!!!
Class format is 40 minute online conference calls (via zoom) where I will share my screen with you as we walk through it together. Requirements include a zoom conference account, laptop/pc to follow along on,
and pen + paper for notes.
These classes are for those who do not yet have a business account, or
who have a business account, and are not quite sure what to do with it,
or how to grow it. This is not just for Wedding Industry!
May 11 / 13 / 15 (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) 4 pm
1. beginner
2. pinning daily
3. extra pinteresting
Three 40 minute classes + follow up
We are keeping the classes short, with lots of info. You can email me questions prior to, and after each class.
On March 22nd, I had a pretty decent 24k monthly viewers on Orange Trunk Pinterest. This morning, only 7 weeks later, my monthly viewership is at 348k
THATS A GROWTH OF 324k monthly viewers!!!
So, I quickly created a Pinterest Business Account for the Workshop, and I'm sitting steadily, just under 10k monthly views...from 0!
AND...I took to Curated Kits Pinterest Account...and took it from 719 ten days ago, to 9.2k as of this afternoon while I write this!
(these numbers do fluctuate with the flow of my daily pinning)
Those numbers are staggering when compared to a Social Media platform, like Instagram. Let me remind you that although those numbers are super impressive to watch climb...what you really want to see is traffic to your website...those link clicks is where its at friends!
There are tips, tricks, pros and cons; extras, buy ins, groups & webinars...and I've done my fair share of all of it...so I can keep those numbers growing, and get those link clicks back to my website(s)!!
And, since this falls under the wedding industry workshop I have created here at The Open Trunk...I thought I'd offer a Beginners Class for Pinterest Business!
I sure hope you can join us!
May 11 / 13 / 15 (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) 4 pm MST
online conference link will be emailed to you
