Our first Styled Shoot Class was held this past week! What a treat to spend a day talking all things styled shoots!!
~ our socially distant seating for attendees at Glenmore Sailing Club ~
Be different. Be you. Tell your own creative story ~ welcome bags ~ I'm really looking forward to hosting another styled shoot class! Many thanks to the vendors who helped create this fun day. Special Thanks to Melanie of Grey Lily Photography, who not only supported my crazy 'lets do a mini shoot' idea, but photographed it so beautifully, AND helped me with the class, as she graciously offered the point of view of a photographer in regards to her own experience with styled shoots. To our Lovely venue host, The Glenmore Sailing Club. A treat to get a chance to play in your space is always fun. Thank you!!! Huge shout out to Jordan + Emily of Holy Spirits Bar for joining us for such a beautiful fall day of decor and styling with your mobile bar and your vintage truck. Thank you!!! All the props to my friend Stephanie with Floral + Field, who was just trying to attend a class, but agreed to help style the fall mini content shoot with us! Thank you!!! If you have a chance to try the grazing boxes by Brie + Banquet, DO IT! BIG thanks to Katie for bringing boxes for our content shoot, but also for feeding our on site vendors before the class began! Thank you!!! Chelsea, of Black Dog Bakery, also just wanting to learn more about styled shoots, offered the sweetest of treats to the content shoot, but also to all of our attendees in their welcome bags! Thank you!!! We have some serious support in this industry, and they want to support you too. Our friends at Confetti Wedding Magazine gave a couple of magazines to all of our attendees. Our friend Sam at Mountain Grove Studios gave each attendee a lovely hand lettered name tag. Our friend Lara of Lamb's Soap Works gave each of our attendees a cold brew coffee soap in their welcome bags. My heart is full! Designing a styled shoot is not about the designer...it is about the vendors! A wise friend told me that just the other day. I have learned so much in this industry from her, and I keep learning with every conversation! A desert shoot...with festival vibes...YES PLEASE! I'll be honest here...I had a Pinterest board full of rad ideas for this style of design...but an opportunity to work with a real couple and their wedding team in Drumheller really got this desert festival design going! Meet Libi. She was an absolute dream to photograph, and to work with in this design. Thank you so much for joining the team for this desert design Libi! Robin Hubert of Avenue Beauty always creates the most amazing looks. Adding the gold foil to Libi's hair, and the gold tattoos + gems really made this a one of a kind look. Lets take a moment to admire this gown...and all its boho festival vibes. This is a Rue de Seine gown from The Bridal Boutique in Calgary. The florals were incredible. Rhonda, of Creative Edge Florals has done it again. From the dried florals, pampas to the roses...each bloom was placed on site, and designed so amazingly by Rhonda. Coven Creative in a word...AMAZING. I asked Kriya her thoughts on hanging her amber pendant lights in a tent ...and once again...its magical. Bringing in macrame pieces to this design was a given with its boho feel, and Laura of The Knot Garden always creates beautiful pieces. The light shades are so beautiful with this rattan screen...wait til you see what she did inside the tent! oh my goodness...I'm not even sure I could explain the joy I had when the team showed me what they did with the mirrors...you guys, this team is stellar!!! Collection of gold gilded mirrors from Coven Creative and the hand lettering by Sam of Mountain Grove Studios...not to mention the fact that these babies were hiked to the top of this hoodoo and cleverly hoisted without damage to the natural surroundings ...mind blown!! Stunning jewelry pieces by Elinor of Evstenroos. What a fabulous collection! I knew exactly who to call for these bold designs, and Elinors art was perfect. Eclectic collections, amber hues, and vintage finds....these are the things that this table design is made of. Orange Trunk provided the rentals to create this festival vibe wedding design. Grazing boards by the uber talented team at Devour Catering. What a treat! If you haven't had the pleasure of Devour Food...do yourself a favour and book them today! Madison of Modern Bake had incredible ideas for this cake. Adding a glass element on top truly added to the boho design. A lost love note, a gentle reminder of love...was the idea for this hand lettered poem by Sam at Mountain Grove Studios, and we styled it using Curated Kits pieces. This fabulous canvas tent is the piece that brought it all together. I cannot thank Natalie of Lavish Canvas enough for all the work she put into setting this beauty up...and moving it ...and staying on site with us all day to ensure we had everything we needed. Designing this shoot brought me such pleasure, and getting a chance to work with each member of this vendor team was nothing short of amazing. Many thanks to each and every one of you for every ounce of effort and time and energy and love you put into this alongside me. I truly could not do it without each of you! Amber. You are a treasure of a human being, and your photography blows me away with every image my friend. I cannot imagine having done this design without you there capturing it. I say thank you a million times over and it could never be enough. Thank you X 1000000000000! Watch for more from this shoot as we release images to each vendor and they get to start sharing their favourites as well. Each vendor is linked throughout the blog, and below. Please take a moment to get to know each of them and send some love their way. Thank you ~Wild Rose Secret Desert Wedding Vendor Team:

Nothing happens without the vendors coming together to bring life to the ideas we have! ~ images by our lead photographer Kimberly Campbell of Chic + grace Studios ~ When I was designing the fine art wedding session, there were so many ideas I was hoping to accomplish for our attendees to get a full experience. Of course those lofty dreams of mine have to be reigned in every once in a while, and I am gently reminded by my peers that we can do another shoot...haha! I do believe we created a dream on this day...and I am so proud of our vendor team for dreaming big with me, and helping to create a magical day for our attendees. This stunning scene is brought to you by the insanely talented Kriya Preisler of Coven Creative. I knew I wanted a french blue sofa in this scene, but it was Kriya who suggested we use the fig trees at the venue. Her white milk-glass pendants hung from above, with the softest glow, perfectly accentuating the details of the venue, the sofa and our model. Kriya also provided production assistance at every turn, and I honestly could not have done this day without her! Sofa provided by Orange Trunk Vintage Rentals The hair and makeup team from Bellamore Beauty created a soft, romantic style for our model Nicole Ronsky. A vintage style chandelier earring by Joanna Bisley Designs was the perfect piece to top off the look of this bride. The gown...oh my! The beautiful, flowy soft ruffles, the sleeves that drape so perfectly...exactly what we had in mind for this design. All the romance for this session friends. Gown and veil provided by Durand Bridal Studios. The venue is a stunning space to design portraiture photography details in. From the indoor greenhouses, the garden arbours, the vast scenery from the outlook, and lanes leading to countryside beauty. What more could anyone dream of! Thank you to Saskatoon Berry Farm in the rural foothills of Alberta for allowing us to dream big with your venue. As you can see, floral dreams do come true. Working alongside Rhonda Fernando of Creative Edge Florals is a dream, and we so enjoy every bloom! Engagement ring envy...yes! This stunning vintage inspired engagement ring was provided by Alberta Diamond Exchange and was envied by all on set. Floral ribbons provided by Curated Kits. Many thanks to Kimberly of Chic + Grace studios for once again leading a beautiful day for our attendees. It is so lovely to work alongside Kimberly and I look forward to sharing more of her images in the coming days. Take a moment and check out each of these vendors. They are an absolute dream to work with, and I look forward to more amazing styled shoots with each of them. Watch for more from this beautiful day, in our next blog that covers the couples session of our fine art wedding workshop + portfolio builder.
