blog submissions...

We have all heard the news. A major wedding blog full of beautiful inspiration has decided to close up shop.  I have seen countless comments and posts on social media...some are sad of the closing, some think it will be better for our industry.  I do not know the details behind this decision, nor do I feel I need to know.

What I do know, is that I love getting inspiration from all kinds of wedding blogs. Our local  Confetti Magazine;  Dote Weddings; and Rocky Mountain Bride are just a few of my favourites.

I feel that as creatives, it is up to us each, personally in our crafts, art, life & professions, to create what is dearest to our hearts.  If you feel slighted because a 'big time blog' declined your submission, don't be offended.  Move on.  There are so many great blogs out there.  Create new!  Submit elsewhere!!

I'm very proud of the features I have had, but I have had projects declined too.  Each blog has a checklist of items they like to see in the images submitted.  Some are detail heavy, some are scenery heavy, some want to see animals...others only want to see family.  None of those checklists are wrong.  But if you create a styled shoot filled with scenery shots...I wouldn't bother sending it to the detail heavy blog!  Ya know what I mean??  haha

I used styled shoots to further the growth of my business.  I do a lot of them.  I enjoy it.  I get a lot of questions about what to do, who to call, where to start...this is why I started these workshops.  They have evolved, and they will continue to evolve, but the main reason we started is still the same.

Our workshops are here to foster the growth of a community of creatives.  People who love what they do, and they just want to share it...share it with anyone and everyone...feature or not!  We take great pride in what we do!

Each workshop we plan has a full styled shoot vendor team.  We create a beautifully styled set.  We invite you to join us.  We give you opportunities to learn, to create, to foster relationships, to enjoy what you do without any expectations more then proudly sharing what we do as a group!!

...and in that spirit, we will be asking for submissions to our blog, to share what you create.  We will offer a badge to our workshop attendees and featured guests so you can proudly display that you have used your creations to further your growth in business, and this industry.  That is always something to be proud of.  We will share more about submissions at the workshop.

We really hope you will submit your images to us to feature on our blog as well.

I truly believe we have put together an event that will serve you and your creative heart well.  I hope you can join us, this time, next time, or every time!
